Solution
Integrated systems using the Anypoint Platform
Constrained with siloed data in Aptos and facing the challenge of how best to migrate consumer details to Salesforce without significant downtime, the retailer turned to NTT DATA for support.
Focusing on the retailer’s long-term value, NTT DATA worked to develop reusable platform APIs that would enable the organization to efficiently generate, sync and store data from Aptos in Salesforce. Using prebuilt connectors provided by MuleSoft, the NTT DATA team also designed an integration with AWS S3 and AWS SNS that allows the retailer to access critical consumer and transaction records. It also sends alerts (via email) when files have migrated successfully or if an error is flagged after each data transfer.
Significantly faster data synchronization
To avoid creating multiple connections to Salesforce, NTT DATA worked to combine batch processing with the Salesforce Bulk API, providing functionality such as Bulk Upsert and Bulk Create and delivering significantly faster data synchronization. A scheduler-based MuleSoft process flow was added to trigger data synchronization at specific and configured hourly intervals, giving the retailer quicker access to essential consumer data.
Working hand-in-hand with NTT DATA, the retailer has successfully integrated its systems, syncing critical consumer transaction data and enabling its team to carefully phase out Aptos and move to the customer-centric Salesforce CRM.
Capturing unique consumer insights
The robust and real-time data provided by Salesforce and the Anypoint Platform enabled the sales, marketing and operations teams to capture unique consumer insights on items such as preferred brand, color, collection style and loyalty point information that the retailer can drill down into and analyze to further develop the brand’s unique retail experience.
