London, UK 28/02/2012 – The Japanese IT consulting and services company NTT DATA (WKN 895009) is gearing up for further expansion. The IT and consulting companies Cirquent, Intelligroup, Keane and Value Team, which were acquired by NTT DATA in recent years, will be integrated into one organisation for the IT markets of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Argentina and Brazil. The integration starts in April 2012. With over 6,500 employees, the companies will serve customers and markets using a single brand name: NTT DATA. Offering innovative IT solutions, NTT DATA provides its customers with long-term added value and a substantial competitive edge. With a harmonised global presence and over 57,000 employees around the world, NTT DATA will increase its market visibility and boost its reputation as an innovative IT partner for companies and organisations worldwide.

Thomas Balgheim, former CEO of Cirquent, is the appointed CEO of the expanded NTT DATA in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Argentina and Brazil. He will be supported by the Executive Vice Presidents of two business units, Financial & Public Sector and Enterprises. Ian Miller, formerly Executive Vice President of Keane in Europe, will head the Financial & Public Sector Business Unit. Patrizio Mapelli, former CEO of Value Team, will head the Enterprise Business Unit. Mitsutaka Nakamura, Senior Vice President from NTT DATA, will act as chairman of the newly formed organisation.

"With the new structure, we're meeting the needs of customers who are looking for a strong partner to help implement their IT optimisation projects or maintain and run their IT systems. The synchronised global brand identity will make it easier for us to communicate our strengths and expertise and improve the visibility of NTT DATA across all regions. At the same time, large regional clusters and the globally harmonised Financial & Public Services and Enterprise business units will make it easier to serve customers who operate on a global scale. By doing this, we're laying the groundwork for further growth," says Thomas Balgheim, future CEO of NTT DATA in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Argentina and Brazil.

Two business units
Both new business units will offer innovative business and IT solutions, from consulting, design, development and implementation to services, operation and maintenance or enhancement of applications. Areas of focus include Business & IT Consulting, Application Development & Management, Enterprise Application Services, Infrastructure Management, Customer Management, IT Security, Business Intelligence, Analytics & Performance Management and Business Process Outsourcing.

The existing local structures beneath the two umbrella business units will be retained for the time being. "Our excellent relationships with our partners and customers are a strength we want to expand on. The activities of our regional teams will be gradually integrated into our region-wide structure in close coordination with customers. With NTT DATA, we're aiming to create synergies in marketing and better support customers who are active across different regions. At the same time, we'll definitely continue to offer our customers the local services they expect from us," says Thomas Balgheim.

The current organisational changes are part of a global repositioning of NTT DATA. On 31 January 2012, NTT DATA synchronised its subsidiaries in North America. The company's activities were consolidated under the umbrella of the US firm NTT DATA, Inc.
