As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe, we quickly took action to protect our team members and their families, clients and partners, and our communities. Today, well over 90 percent of our ~50,000 team members in over 40 countries are working from home. We continuously ensure data security and privacy for these remote workers while adhering to all governance and regulatory requirements. For the relatively few team members who must work onsite at hospitals and other essential client locations, we have implemented rigorous hygiene and security protocols.
In turn, our employees’ number one priority has been supporting each other and delivering quality service to clients. Our core strategy of helping clients modernize current IT environments and move to the cloud remains the same, albeit on a different and often accelerated pace and schedule. In fact, our teams have worked non-stop to help clients set up thousands of virtual desktops and global conferencing solutions to support remote working.
As one example, employees worked around the clock to help a hard-hit New York City hospital migrate 10,000 employees to remote work within a matter of days – all while meeting the challenge of skyrocketing telehealth and helpdesk requests. And, our team members are supporting caregivers in COVID-19 testing tents and hospital ICUs to ensure caregivers have the technology they need to serve patients. We’re also responding quickly to client requests for mobile apps, COVID case tracking and other new solutions.
I am proud of the NTT DATA team and their commitment to helping clients through these unprecedented times and beyond. I firmly believe that by prioritizing safety, trust and resilience, we will move through this crisis together and emerge stronger on the other side.
Stay safe and healthy,
