Does the IoT have anything to do with your daily commute? Actually, it does. With 66% of the world’s population expected to live in urban areas in the coming decades, traffic is going get worse before it gets better. Fortunately, IoT technology has the potential to mitigate congestion, forecasting vehicle movement and adjusting traffic lights to avoid gridlock. Infrastructure issues can also be addressed—for example, monitoring the condition of certain roads to develop more efficient maintenance schedules.
